Principal's Report

Dear Families and Friends,
Welcome to our final Newsletter for Term 3. It is hard to believe that we have reached the end of another school term. I would like to congratulate all of our students and staff for their hard work and dedication for what has been an extremely busy term, full of exciting activities and events.
It has been so great to see so many of our parents, families and friends joining in the fun and excitement at school over these final few weeks at our Faction Athletics Carnival events, Early Childhood Sports Day, Assemblies and Interschool Athletics Carnival. Thank you so much for all your support for our school events! Your attendance and participation creates a special atmosphere for our students and builds strong connections across our school community.

School Leaders 2026

We are excited to congratulate two of our Year 5 students who were successfully voted into our School Leader positions for 2026!

Congratulations to...

Taylor Horton - 2026 School Captain

Tyler Wood - 2026 School Captain

These two fantastic students were announced at our final assembly of this term and presented with their School Captain badges.

We look forward to Taylor and Tyler working with our current Year 6 Student Leaders next term to learn their new roles and responsibilities.

Planning 2026

Part of our preparation for 2026 is class structures and placements. This can often be a stressful time for school staff and families. While we are planning class structures and placements it is important that we have as much information as possible to make informed decisions that best meet the needs of our students and school. Firstly, I ask that any families that are not planning on returning to Byford PS in 2026 to please let the office know. This will ensure that we have accurate projected enrolments and will hopefully reduce the risk of having to restructure classes once the school year commences. Secondly, if you have any class placement requests based on the educational needs of your child please also forward these onto me. It is important to note that with over 420 students it may not be possible to meet all requests, but all will be considered. Please email this required information to Byford.PS@education.wa.edu.au and attention it to Jody Harrington.

Term 4 Rise Dance Studio Lessons

As we reach the end of Term 3, we look ahead to Term 4 and are excited to welcome Rise Dance Studio to Byford Primary! Our students will commence their Rise Dance lessons in week 1 next term. Please ensure you send your permission forms and money to school so your child can participate. Students will have lessons each week in preparation for our End of Year Concert Performance which will be held on Wednesday 10th December. So, please SAVE THE DATE!

End of Term

As this is the final newsletter for the term, I would like to wish all of our students and their families an enjoyable and safe term break.

School returns for students in Term 4, on Tuesday 14th October.
