Principal's Report
Welcome to our final Newsletter for Term 2. It is hard to believe that we are reaching the end of another school term. I would like to congratulate and thank all of our students and staff on the way they approached the teaching and learning program over this semester. I am currently reading semester one progress reports and it is great to hear about what the students have achieved so far this year. I look forward to what the next two terms brings.
NAIDOC Week 2023
Next week at BPS we will be celebrating NAIDOC Week. The theme for this year's NAIDOC Week is ‘For Our Elders’.
Across the week, classes will be participating in a number of in-class activities. On Tuesday (27 June) we are being visited by staff and students from the Follow the Dream program at Byford Secondary College who will work with some of our classes on activities such as storytelling/yarning, face painting, bracelet weaving, traditional dancing and creating an art mural. Room 5 will also be hosting a NAIDOC themed assembly on Wednesday.
It will be a wonderful week of learning about and celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
On Wednesday (28 June) we invite all students and staff to wear NAIDOC shirts or colours.
Looking forward to a wonderful week of learning and celebration.
Semester 1 Student Progress Reports
Your child will receive a Semester 1 Progress Report next week. This progress report will provide you with information on how your child is progressing against the curriculum taught so far in the year. If you have recently changed your email address please make sure you update this with front office to ensure that all Reports make it home. Reports will be emailed home on Monday 26th June.
Kindergarten & Pre-Primary Applications to enrol 2024
Byford Primary School is now taking enrolment applications for students entering Kindergarten and Pre Primary in 2024. Both Byford Primary School and Byford Community Kindergarten will be offering a Kindergarten program in 2024.
