Dear Families and Friends,

Farewell to Jill Walker

We say farewell to Jill at the end of this Term as Jill has been offered and accepted the position of Manager of Corporate Services at the new Baldivis South Primary School (planning name) starting from the beginning of Term 3, 2020.

On behalf of the Staff, students and community of our school we would like to congratulate and wish Jill the very best in her new position in helping to start a new school and in the years ahead. Jill’s wonderful service to our school and community, collegiality, and friendship, will be greatly missed at Byford Primary School.

A notice of Jill’s replacement will be communicated to our school community as soon as possible.

Reporting to Parents

A reminder that Reports will be emailed home Monday 29 June 2020. The COVID-19 situation found the regular attendance of many students being lower over this time, thus in line with the Department of Education guidelines in Reporting to Parents for Semester 1, student’s attendance will not be reported in the Semester 1 Report.

Once you receive the email with the link to download the report you have four weeks from the date it is sent to access it. After that the link will become inactive and you will have to contact the school to request any reports.

It is important that the school has your current email address. If your email address has changed it is important that you let the school know by Friday 26th June at the latest to ensure you will receive your child/children's reports.

Year 6 Camp

It is great news that our Year 6 school Camp in Term 4 to Jarrahfall Bush Camp and Dare Adventures can go ahead. This was announced, on the 8 June 2020, in the Department of Education COVID-19 operating guidelines for Western Australian Public Schools.

A letter with details and costs has been sent home to parents, as well as information on fundraising events by our P&C Fundraising Group. There is a great deal of excitement amongst our Year 6 student cohort with this end of Primary School milestone event now in place.

NAIDOC Week Activity Day

NAIDOC Week is celebrated in week 1 of Term 2 school holidays. The Staff decided to complete a NAIDOC Activity Day which will be Monday Week 10 this Term where they work in their Year Level Phase Team Groups for our students to participate in activities.

As this is the final newsletter before the school holidays I wish to acknowledge the Staff of our school for their dedication and hard work in delivering a quality educational setting for our students. Thank you to parents and families for your support and we look forward to working with you next Term. I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable two weeks across the school holidays.

Have a wonderful weekend.
