Last week was one of the most exciting weeks of the school calendar with our two Faction Athletic events.

Our 2021 Faction Athletic events commenced on Tuesday with the individual student events of jumps, throws and 400m. It was certainly a hot day with temperatures passing 25 degrees and many of the events were very close with some great distances achieved by the competing students. Some of the competitions were so close we had a few draws for top four places. It was a great morning of events and a great start to our Faction competition.

On Friday the big Faction Carnival day arrived and it was fantastic to see students dressed up to show their Faction colours. The day started with the traditional marching down the track into the Faction bays and it was amazing to see so many parents, friends and families coming to cheer on their children on this day. Thank you for your support and creating a great atmosphere for the students to compete.

Our running events were close, followed by the students working hard together in their team games.

After many successful events the competition points were very close for fourth, third and second. Huge congratulations to Mercury for winning the 2021 Byford Primary Faction Athletics Carnival!

A huge shout out of congratulations and thank you to Ms Marchetti for all her organisation over the past few months organising all the Faction events and coordinating weeks of Faction training. Also, a fantastic effort from all staff involved in training and selecting their teams who competed in what was a sensational week of events.

We are looking forward to competing in our upcoming Interschool Carnival on Thursday 23rd September at Woodland Grove.

We are also looking forward to our Junior Primary, Kindy & PrePrimary students joining in the faction event fun on their Early Childhood Sports Day on Tuesday 21st September.
