Languages Week
In week 3, the students celebrated Languages Week. Some of the classes looked at particular words in a different language and made a poster. These words were associated with the topics currently studied in class. Room 7 and 14 wrote the word ‘family,’ and Room 1 and 8 wrote the word ‘school.’ They all learnt lots of new words and even tried different styles of writing. Some of this work is up on display in the library.
Rooms 9, 10 and 13 have been learning about some of the landmarks in Italy. In the lead up to languages week, the students chose a landmark to draw a picture of and describe. In Languages Week, they then used spaghetti and marshmallows to make the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Of course, the students discovered the many challenges involved in making a building with these materials!
