Dale Fest
Our choir students attended Dale Fest at the Kelmscott Hall on the afternoon of Friday 31st August 2018. For the first part of the afternoon they participated in a workshop where they worked with other schools on song writing. Later in the afternoon the students sang in a mass choir the songs they had learnt, as well as performed their own item on the theme “Science Rocks”.
IGA Community Chest
At our last assembly Athene Macdonald and Leigharna Lewis from Lakeside Plaza Shopping Centre presented Byford Primary School with a cheque for $500. This was kindly donated by Lakeside Plaza IGA and is the result of a raffle the shopping centre ran for local schools. We were the lucky winners of this generous prize. The money will go towards supporting students in need.
2018 Parent Survey
Byford PS is once again looking for your thoughts on the effectiveness of the school through a short survey. Do we get it right? Are you happy with your child’s progress at school? Are you happy with your child’s education and the management of the school? Through this survey we hope to find out about the impressions you have formed of our school. The survey opens Thursday 13th September at 8am and you have until 5:00pm Friday 19th October to complete it. We encourage all parents to complete the survey. The survey is anonymous and the more people who complete the survey the more reliable the data will be.

Chaplain Chatter
Hi everyone and what a sunny, beautiful weekend it was. I hope you had an opportunity to enjoy it.
Quality Character #19 Punctuality; demonstrates the worth of people and time by arriving for appointments before they begin. Punctuality is being present, prepared, and alert for appointed times and seasons. Failing to be punctual offends those who are forced to wait for us. When we keep other people waiting we rob them of their time and hinder them from accomplishing tasks. Punctuality is the saying ‘yes’ to wise planning and ‘no’ to delightful distractions. In the Northern Hemisphere the punctual migration of swallows has been documented for thousands of years. Each fall, swallows fly south and each spring they return – usually within twenty-four hours of their anticipated arrival.
