Kindy Transportable Building
I have been informed that work will commence this week and that the building will be delivered in the week beginning the 5th March. It will take some time for the installation to be completed as the building has to have a deck and ramp attached, the plumbing, electrical, security and data caballing works have to be connected, the storage shed has to be erected and the works for the location of the large bins needs to be completed. We are hopeful that we will be able to move in over the school holidays and be ready to commence classes in the building in Term 2.
Bike Racks
The bike racks near Room 11 have now been moved to the enclosed gated area behind Room 10.
Clean Up Australia Day
On Friday 2nd March our students will be ‘cleaning up’ Byford Primary School and some community areas. Many thanks to Byford Coles for donating the disposable gloves, Mrs Coleen Rankin who has organised the orange bags and for the SJ Shire who will collect the rubbish.
Long Weekend and Easter Holidays
Monday 5th March is a public holiday and thus the school will be closed. The school is also closed over the Easter break – Friday 30 March, Monday 2 April and Tuesday 3rd April. I wish you all an enjoyable and safe break.

WAFL South Fremantle Footy Clinic
On Tuesday 27th February, our local WAFL district team, South Fremantle Bulldogs, came and conducted fun footy clinics with our junior primary classes.
Students enjoyed playing with footballs and joining in fun exercises with WAFL players and coaches. It was great to see our younger student’s experiencing the bounce of an AFL football and giving them a chance to practise kicking and handballing. Some of our kids certainly have some nice long kicks!
The students were given the chance to play with one of our South Fremantle Bulldog size 3 footballs which are a part of our special Footy’s for Schools P&C Fundraiser. Order forms to purchase these footballs went home last week and are also available from the front office or by clicking the link below. Get your orders in over the next week to help our P&C, as well as giving your kids a new footy.
If your kids love footy or are looking for a fun game to play to meet new friends and learn new skills, Mundijong Centrals Junior Football Club had their Registration Day recently and are always welcoming new players.

Aussie of the Month
Each month two students are chosen as our ‘Aussie of the Month’ and are presented with a badge, certificate and reward at our assembly. It is awarded to an outstanding citizen in our school community.
Congratulations to our winners this month:

Chaplain Chatter
Hi everyone, how are those letters to your future self going? Are you paving a path? Don’t forget to get those letters to me so that I can give them back to you at the end of the year to read.
This term’s chaplain’s challenge is to make a “Paper Bridge to carry a remote car.” I strongly encourage parents/guardians to get involved, it can be a great time together. The bridge needs to be 4 hands long and 2 hands wide. The bridge will need to be able to hold a pound of weight. That’s right a paper bridge, not cardboard or plastic. Again 1000 points for entering. There will be a gift voucher for the winner and more faction points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd runners up.
Mmmm…. What should I have for breakfast? Toast? Cereal? Eggs? Waffles? Coffee with or without caffeine? We have so many choices and yet unsatisfied. Have the choices brought you joy or stress? We should be content. Contentment is something we can develop by counting our blessings, being thankful for what we do have now. Make a list today. Look at it daily. Add to it as you find new ones. Feel your sense of contentment grow.
Have a great week. Take care.
