During Week 7, our kindy students enjoyed a Teddy Bears Picnic and Messy Play Day. They invited their favourite teddies to come along to kindy and join in some fun activities, including music and dance and parachute play. They made their own lunches before enjoying a Picnic and Icy poles with their teddies. The following day, they came ready for some messy play experiences, including goop, mud, shaving cream, paint, and bubbles. Here, they enjoyed the different textures and sensory experiences that the varied materials offered, stimulating curiosity, fun and creativity.

Blue Group

Yellow Group

Rooms 4, 5 & 6 students visited the Perth Zoo on Monday 27th November 2023.  Students discovered the Noongar seasons and names for animals found in the Southwest as part of the Gwabba Boodja program.  Through story, costume and animal observations, students discovered the differences between animals and how their bushland habitat provides for their survival.

As part of our science curriculum, students in rooms 1 & 8 enjoyed a fun day at SciTech on Thursday 30th November 2023.  They participated in CSI Forensic Science: The Heist activity, exhibit & exploration.

I would like to thank all the executive and general committee members for their commitment in 2023. Many hands make light work is my favourite motto for our P&C, this year we had 20 members on board which is amazing.

The 2024 AGM is scheduled to be held on the 15th of February @6.30 pm in the school staff room, all executive positions are declared vacant. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Thank you to all the school community for your support this year, it is greatly appreciated. On behalf of the P&C I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year! See you all in 2024.

Year 6 Camp Fundraisers

Zooper_Dooper.jpg

Zooper Dooper Thursdays

Zooper Doopers are continually being sold on Thursdays for 50c each.  We’re always in need of Zooper Doopers to continue this fundraising venture and are very appreciative of donations.  If you can help, please drop Zooper Doopers to the senior block.

Containers for Change

We’ve joined the Containers for Change team to raise money for the year 6 camp, whilst helping to make a real difference to the environment.  This will roll over to  the Year 6 Fundraising Committee every year.  Donation bins have been placed in the undercover, blue court and pre-primary areas for students to donate their used water/drink bottles, juice and milk boxes (please look out for the 10c icon on the side of the container).  If you wish to donate containers from your household, please quote our Scheme ID #C10425624 when you drop off your containers to the recycle drop-off points and the funds will automatically get deposited into our fundraising account.

Hat_Sun.png

A ‘No Hat, Limited Outside Play’ policy is enforced at Byford Primary School all year.  Parents can assist us by reinforcing the need for protection from the sun by ensuring that students have a wide brim hat. Hats can be purchased through the school uniform shop next to Room 3.  Students who do not have a hat are instructed to play under sheltered areas such as the Undercover Area near the canteen. Caps are not acceptable as they do not provide adequate protection to the ears and back of the neck from the sun.
